These ready to cross stitch towels are what got us all excited for cross stitching again a few years ago. We had no idea they existed. Once we found them in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul our enthusiasm for cross stitching grew even more.
Cross stitching the towels
The stitchable fabric is a bit thicker than Aida. For those used to Aida you will probably need some time to get used to it. If you’re using mouline embroidery thread, use double layers to make sure you’re stitches are nice and visible. You could also use thicker thread, for example DMC Perle #8.

Where to find ready to stitch towels
Of course we realize not everyone is able to go on a cross stitch shopping spree in Istanbul. Luckily, for those who live in Europe, you can order similar items here. I have to be very honest, they are a lot cheaper at the Grand Bazaar. But if you don’t want to invest time and money in a trip to Istanbul, this is your next best thing 🙂
Cross stitch towels are perfect gift as for example a house-warming gift or to add colorful touches to your own home.
