Cross stitch Kitchen

Nostalgia in the kitchen

We’ve created a kitchen apron using a cross stitch pattern in the 50s style by Les Brodeuses Parisiennes. I love the 50s style; the beautiful dresses, the pearls, the hairdo’s. I never cook without an apron, so when I came across this pattern I couldn’t wait to get started on this new project.

It is actually not a very difficult pattern. Although the pattern has 13 colors, it isn’t difficult because the colors aren’t very mixed, they are mostly clustered together.

For the apron I made, I added the name. The pattern actually says ‘quel regal’. Since I was making this as a gift for someone, I decided to personalize it and add her name.

Once I finished the cross stitch part, my mother incorporated it into an apron. For the apron pattern, she used an apron we already had.

Would you like to cross stitch this pattern as well? You can find the pattern in this magazine. The magazine is in French. I personally speak the language very little to none. However, I used the magazine just for the patterns. The dimensions and counts are also pretty easy to understand. Should you make this pattern yourself, I would be very curious to see the results!
