Cross stitch Fairytales

A tale as old as time

It is no secret that the Kanavice Sisters love to cross stitch fairytales and Beauty and the Beast is no exception. The pattern we chose made us feel as we were in a cross stitch fairytale.

The magic of the Beauty and the Beast

I remember when the live action version of Beauty and the Beast was released in 2017 I was working in Australia. And I literally did not have time to go to the movies (I was working on a cruise ship). But together with a dear colleague we made it work so we could run over to the cinema in Melbourne. Even though we missed the first five minutes I absolutely enjoyed the movie. The magic made me forget about all the stress at work.

Cross stitch fairytale

This memory made me truly enjoy every stitch that I made in this cross stitch project. The pattern is just so magical. As you can see, the pattern comes with a blond Belle in a pink dress. I’m hoping to one day make the pattern with a brunette Belle in a yellow dress.

The designer of the pattern

This pattern, like ‘Sleeping Beauty’, was also designed by Veronique Enginger and you can find it in her book “Fables“.

What to use it for

I was so excited when I first saw the pattern, I just started cross stitching without thinking what I would use it. I still haven’t made my mind up, but I think it would be a great to have it framed and put it up in a nursery. Or I’m thinking of making a pillow case out of. Please let me know if you have some creative ideas in the comments!
