We have welcomed a new princess into our family. And of course proud auntie Deniz had to make cross stitch baby project for our newest addition.
Our mother cross stitched something for Sermin and I as well when we were born, with our names, date of births and weights on them. These were framed and placed on the wall in our nurseries. To continue with tradition, I wanted to make something similar for my niece.
Finding the pattern
I wanted to make this a very special cross stitch baby project of course, so I looked for a long time to find the right patterns. I found a beautiful series of patterns made by ‘Les Brodeuses Parisiennes’. It’s called ‘Le Grande Histoire de Bebe‘ and contains 50 adorable small patterns. Even though they are small, they do consist of many colors, so you do need to invest some time in cross stitching them.
I have enjoyed stitching this so much, I plan to make similar pieces for my friends who are also expecting.
After I finished the cross stitching, I decided to frame it. It was a bit difficult to find a suitable frame, as it turned out quite wide. When you select a photo frame, make sure that it deep enough for some wiggle room for your fabric.
