Show your love by stabbing a piece of fabric thousands of times with your needle and thread. Just kidding. While I am not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, I do love to base my cross stitch projects on the time of year and special holidays. Let’s talk a bit about Valentine’s Day cross stitch projects.
Do you sometimes look for inspiration on what to cross stitch next? Once I finish a cross stitch project, I sometimes find it can be overwhelming to pick a new pattern to work one. Perhaps it comes from spending so much time and joy cross stitching the previous one, but finishing one project always leaves me eager to start a new one. What sometimes helps me in deciding which project to move onto, is the time of year. You might have noticed from my Instagram that I love fall in particular. But also enjoy basing my selection of patterns on holidays. Also ones that I don’t celebrate myself.
For example, I don’t celebrate Easter, but I do live in a country where most people celebrate it. So I enjoy all the festivities around it. In particular: the Easter eggs. Anyway, this post is about Valentine’s Day so I should get back on topic. As I mentioned before, I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day. It does feel slightly commercial. On the other hand, I also feel that it is a good excuse to express how much you value and love someone. So, last year, I gladly took on Valentine’s Day as inspiration for a small cross stitch project. I was happy to have found AnaCuteStitches pattern. Although the below pattern is not available on her Etsy page, you can browse through her other patterns, they are lovely!
Although Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I am still not sure I’ll actually be able to cross stitch one this year as I’ve just started another pattern. Are you planning on doing cross stitching a Valentine’s Day themed pattern? Let me know in the comments below!
