It’s the week between Christmas and New Year’s. Which means that I just can’t seem to remember what day of the week it is. During this week, I also like to take in the last bit of the Christmas magic and create some winter themed cross stitch projects. Also, on a personal note, even though I have spent the last four months following a low carb diet, this is also a week during which carbs do not exist.
Winter themed cross stitch patterns
Unlike we had done for our fall cross stitch projects, this winter I did not create a large cross stitch project. I think I am still recovering from that major fall cross stitch project. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to do a larger winter themed cross stitch project as well.
For now, I made smaller cross stitch projects. I again turned to Les Brodeuses Parisiennes for some precious patterns.
I made a little reindeer. You can find this pattern in ‘Le Calendrier de l’Avent‘. I have to admit that I made a mistake while cross stitching this pattern. The experts might have already noticed. I made a mistake in the horizontal branch. Which is why that branch turned out longer than it was supposed. However, admittedly, I am quite pleased with how it turned out and was able to forgive myself for this mistake.
In addition to the reindeer, I also made a snow globe. This pattern is also from Les Brodeuses Parisiennes and is part of a series of snow globes called ‘Boules de neige’.
Daarnaast heb ik ook nog een sneeuwbol gemaakt. Dit patroon is ook van Les Brodeuses Parisiennes, het is te vinden in de collectie ‘Boules de neige’.
I of course also had to cross stitch a fairy tale themed pattern. As some of you may have noticed, I’m quite the fairy tale fan. I immediately thought of Soda Stitch (you’ll find more on Soda Stitch here). The decision was quite easy, as I quickly decided on the Nutcracker pattern. This pattern is available on its own, but it’s also part of the Fairy Tale Land 2 collection (the link is to a Dutch website, but the pattern is available through different international vendors as well). I used the Fairy Tale Land pattern. I also changed the color of the skin in this pattern. If you’re looking for more tips on how to make this adjustment, head over here.
